Best Spas in Lisbon for Tourists: Prices, Locations and How to Choose

A note before we start: Thai Gold Massage is our spa, so you’ll find us on this list. We’ve tried to describe every place fairly and to tell you who each one suits. Prices and opening hours change, so check the spa’s own website before you go.

Lisbon is a city of hills and cobblestones, and by day three most visitors want to sit down somewhere quiet. The right spa depends on what you want: a hotel spa with pools, a quick massage near your hotel, or somewhere romantic for two. Here’s how the options compare.

Quick answer: which spa is best for tourists in Lisbon?

  • Want a full hotel spa with a water circuit? The Spa by Corinthia, or SAYANNA at EPIC SANA Lisboa.
  • Want a quiet day spa and don’t mind a taxi? CitySpa in Restelo.
  • Want a boutique hotel spa? The Vintage Hotel & Spa.
  • Want a massage in the middle of the tourist area, with no hotel booking? Thai Gold Massage, a few minutes’ walk from Rossio and Restauradores.

1. The Spa by Corinthia Lisbon: for a hotel spa day

Corinthia’s spa is built around a water therapy circuit: sensory showers, a dynamic pool, a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and cold plunge. The official page lists the circuit at €40 per person for one hour and €60 for two. It’s a good choice if you want a half-day of hydrotherapy rather than a single massage. It’s in the Sete Rios / Praça de Espanha area, not the old town, so allow time to get there. Ask when you book whether non-hotel guests can access the spa on your date.

2. SAYANNA Wellness & Spa at EPIC SANA Lisboa: for a modern hotel spa

SAYANNA is the wellness area of the EPIC SANA Lisboa hotel on Avenida Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco, close to Marquês de Pombal and the Amoreiras shopping area. It suits visitors staying in that part of town who want massages plus a pool and sauna in one place. Check the spa’s own website for current treatments, day-access rules and prices.

3. The Vintage Hotel & Spa: for a quieter, boutique feel

A smaller hotel spa on Rua Rodrigo da Fonseca. Boutique hotel spas tend to have fewer rooms and more privacy, which suits couples or anyone who dislikes busy spa floors. Ask directly about treatment menus, prices and availability for non-guests.

4. CitySpa Lisbon: for a calm day spa outside the centre

CitySpa describes itself as “The DaySpa Lisbon”. It’s in Restelo, near Belém, not the city centre. Its treatment rooms, hammam and relaxation areas are rated 4.8 out of 5 from 173 Google reviews, with reviewers mentioning attentive staff and a calm atmosphere. It’s listed on TopSpa. It’s closed on Sundays, so don’t plan a Sunday visit. If you’re already in Belém for the monastery and the pastry shop, it fits well.

5. Thai Gold Massage: for a massage in the middle of the tourist area

We’re at R. das Portas de Santo Antão 15 1º, a short walk from Rossio and Restauradores, so it’s easy to fit in between the Baixa, Chiado and Bairro Alto. We’re a Thai massage studio, not a hotel spa. There’s no pool or sauna, but you get the massage itself without a long journey. Open every day, 10:00 to 20:00, and walk-ins are welcome.

How to choose a spa in Lisbon as a tourist

Think about where you’ll be that day

Lisbon’s hills make a “quick taxi” slower than it looks. If you’re sightseeing in Baixa, Alfama or Chiado, a central spa saves an hour. If you’re in Belém or near Marquês de Pombal, a spa there is easier.

Decide: massage only, or a full spa day?

A massage studio is quick and cheaper per hour. A hotel spa with pools suits a half-day and costs more once you add treatments. Be honest about how much time you have.

Check opening days and hours

Some spas close on Sundays. If you only have one free afternoon, confirm they’re open.

Look at real reviews

Read what people say about the therapist and the room, not just the star rating. Our guide on how to choose the best spa in Lisbon has a longer checklist.

Book ahead in high season

June to September and weekends fill up. Walk-ins may work, but a message the day before is safer.

Tips for visiting a spa in Lisbon

  • Allow extra time. Arrive early, and don’t schedule dinner right after.
  • Pack swimwear if the spa has pools, and ask what’s provided.
  • Tell the therapist about injuries, pregnancy or medical conditions. If unsure, ask your doctor first.
  • Plan it around your sightseeing. A late-afternoon massage after a morning on the hills works well.
  • Tipping isn’t expected in Portugal. Rounding up for good service is a kind gesture.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best spa in Lisbon for tourists?

It depends on what you want. For a hotel spa with a water circuit, look at The Spa by Corinthia. For a quiet day spa, CitySpa in Restelo. For a Thai massage in the central tourist area, Thai Gold Massage, near Rossio and Restauradores.

How much does a massage cost in Lisbon?

At Thai Gold Massage, a 60-minute single-therapist massage costs €50 to €65 depending on the treatment, and 90 minutes costs €75 to €90 (four-hand massage costs more). Hotel spas often cost more and may charge separately for facilities. Check each spa’s website.

Can non-guests use hotel spas in Lisbon?

Some hotel spas accept non-guests, others don’t, and rules change by day. Always check with the spa before you go.

Do I need to book a spa in advance in Lisbon?

For hotel spas, yes, especially in summer and at weekends. At Thai Gold Massage, walk-ins are welcome, but booking by WhatsApp or online guarantees a time.

Which Lisbon spas are open on Sundays?

Not all. CitySpa, for example, is closed on Sundays. Thai Gold Massage is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00.

The bottom line

There’s no single best spa, only the best one for your trip. Pick by location, time, and budget, then book ahead if it’s busy. If you’re staying in the Baixa or Chiado and want a good massage close to the sights, we’d be glad to see you: book online, message us on WhatsApp or call +351 920 024 277.
